Jan Edwards strives to combine art and activism. She co-founded the Redwood Coast Alliance for Democracy which spearheaded the first ever resolution to End Corporate Personhood, adopted in 2000 by the City of Point Arena, California. Then she toured the county for the Women's International League for Peace and Freedom, speaking on the issue of Corporate Personhood using an 18 ft Timeline of Personhood Rights and Powers which she researched and designed. In the Tapestry of the Commons Interactive Project and Radio Programs she blends her experience in film and theater with her vision of Rights-Based Organizing. Jan also co-hosts a radio program, "Corporations and Democracy" on KZYX+Z Mendocino County Community Radio, writes a regular column, "Rights and Wrongs," for Justice Rising, and makes a line of peace jewelry, including the Water Drops. She lives on the ridge above Point Arena, California with her husband William P. Meyers. They both serve on the board of the California Center for Community Democracy.

Nancy Price has been associated with the Alliance for Democracy since the founding convention in 1996, and is currently Co-Chair and also Western Coordinator of the "Defending Water for Life" Campaign. She helped launch the Tapestry of the Commons Project and writes for Justice Rising,, AfD's Quarterly Newsletter. She is on the Leadership Team of the Women's International League for Peace and Freedom's Save the Water Campaign. Nancy also helped launch the Water Allies Network in the U.S., convening the working group on Clean Water - Healthy Communities with a focus the Precautionary Principle. As a graduate student in Chinese art history and Ancient Near Eastern archaeology, she studied the production and political function of artifacts and the rise of early states and empires. This is the background for Nancy's current interest in trade, water and the commons, politics and democracy. Since 1973, Nancy has lived in Davis, CA where over the years she and a clutch of community activists have labored to create and maintain a livable community.

Leon Schneiderman (standing) was a member of the theater group Mystic Knights of the Oingo Boingo and a founding member of Oingo Boingo. During the group's early years he built original instruments and most of the sets, costumes, and theatrical devices, which contributed to the group's memorable and unique shows. He played saxophone with the group and continued to do so through most of the rock and roll years that followed. In the mid-nineties Leon moved to the Mendocino coast near Point Arena. He joined the nonprofit that restored the historic Arena Theatre and served on that board for seven years before joining the film group for five years that showed movies in that same venue. Since then he has been sculpting, building and playing musical instruments, and tending his garden.

Andrew Pursell (seated) was declared a child prodigy at the age of four while playing his first musical instrument: cardboard boxes. Since then he has added keyboards to his instrumental accomplishments. Andrew, also known as Isha, has played with several bands including Makka, and currently plays with the Pollinators. When he isn't performing at local venues or teaching elementary school, Andrew enjoys working with sound in his recording studio deep in the redwoods above Point Arena.
